Rail passengers are being reminded to check their train times, ahead of major changes being introduced across the rail network this weekend. West Midlands Railway and London Northwestern Railway will be implementing new timetables from Sunday (19 May), bringing improvements for passengers across the West Midlands.

There will be significant improvements to train services between Walsall and Rugeley this May, as electric trains start operating to the Chase Line. The first electric train carrying passengers travelled on the line today (Friday 10 May), ahead of major timetable improvements to be introduced later this month.
Rail passengers at stations along the West Coast Mainline will be able to find out more about upcoming timetable improvements over the next two weeks. London Northwestern Railway will be hosting a number of ‘Whistle Stop Tour' events at stations, as well as providing senior management on trains across the network to remind passengers of changes to services coming this Spring.
The first test run of a Class 172/0 has been successfully completed between Leamington Spa and Nuneaton. On Sunday 28 April, the four carriage train, made up of two units cascaded from London Overground, made it’s first through journey between the two stations.
The first Class 230 D Train has entered passenger service on the Marston Vale line this morning (Tuesday 23 April). Unit 230004 is now in service on the route between Bletchley and Bedford. The train, which has been developed by Vivarail, will provide extra capacity and improved customer experience for passengers on the line.
