Passengers travelling with West Midlands Railway (WMR) are being reminded that national timetable changes will come into effect this weekend.
From Sunday 17 May, departure times and frequencies on some routes will change as part of a national twice-yearly timetable update.
WMR will be introducing additional early morning services on some routes, including on the popular Cross City Line and
London Northwestern Railway (LNR) is introducing 42,000 extra seats on its services to and from London Euston every week as part of a national timetable change coming into effect this Sunday (17 May).
From this weekend, LNR is completing the rollout of its brand-new electric trains onto routes between London and Milton Keynes and on the Trent Valley Line connecting the capital with destinations
A low-speed freight train derailment in Oxley will impact passengers travelling through Wolverhampton until the end of service today.
At around 8.30pm on Tuesday 5 May, one wagon of a freight train derailed at low-speed, causing damage to the track and overhead power lines. There were no injuries, the derailed wagon remained upright, and no other trains were involved.

The Cross City line between Birmingham New Street and Lichfield Trent Valley will close for three days in May while a HS2 viaduct is installed near the new Curzon Street station.
The closure will mean no trains will run between Lichfield and Birmingham on the north side of the Cross City line between Friday 29 until Sunday 31 May. The line will reopen as normal on Monday 1 June.
