Fire Near the Railway at Wembley Stops Trains to and from London Euston
London Northwestern Railway (LNR) this evening advises customers to check online journey planners or websites before attempting to travel on services between London and Northampton, after an industrial fire near the railway at Wembley caused all trains to be stopped by the London Fire Brigade.
Services were stopped at about 7:55 p.m. follow the identification of gas canisters in the area of the fire. As of 9pm, the railway remains closed until further notice. As a result, no trains are able to run.
Steve Helfet, Head of West Coast Services for LNR, said, "We apologise to customers for delays to train service this evening, caused by an industrial fire in the Wembley area. We are unable to run trains until the Fire Brigade declares it safe to do so, so at this time cannot give any estimate for resumption of normal service."
London Northwestern Railway tickets are being accepted on other operators' train services from St Pancras and Marylebone, as well as on TfL buses and the Underground.
