London Northwestern Railway confirms reduced timetable ahead of industrial action

London Northwestern Railway (LNR) is urging passengers to plan their travel in advance ahead of two days of strike action due to take place this week.

On Friday 10 July and Saturday 11 July a reduced service will be in operation on the LNR network due to strike action by members of the TSSA trade union.

On Friday a limited timetable will be in operation and some routes will have no service. No trains will run after 7pm with the final LNR services of the day departing by 5.30pm.

On Saturday a limited timetable will be in operation and some routes will have no service. Trains will start later than usual, with the first LNR services of the day starting from 7am.

Jonny Wiseman, LNR customer experience director, said:

“We are disappointed TSSA has called further unnecessary strike action which is set to cause significant disruption for our customers. We are working hard to reach a resolution to this dispute and urge TSSA to continue talks.

“We are sorry for the inconvenience this will cause our customers and we are doing everything we can to minimise the impact as much as possible. If the strike action does go ahead we will be running a significantly reduced timetable on both dates. Customers are advised to check before they travel by visiting journey planners and our website.”

Routes with a limited service on Friday 10 July and Saturday 11 July are:

  • Birmingham – Liverpool – 1 train per hour
  • London Euston – Crewe – 1 train per hour
  • Birmingham – London Euston via Northampton – 1 train per hour
  • Milton Keynes – London Euston – 1 train per hour
  • Watford Junction – St Albans Abbey – 1 train per hour

Train times will be available in Journey Planners ahead of the strike days.

No trains will run on any other LNR route, including between Stafford and Crewe via Stoke-on-Trent and the Marston Vale Line between Bedford and Bletchley.

Some disruption to services is expected on the morning of Sunday 12 July due to displacement of trains.
