Press release -

Northampton rail passengers urged to plan ahead of engineering work on Sunday 8 November

Rail passengers in Northamptonshire are being urged to check their travel plans ahead of planned engineering works due to take place on Sunday 8 November.

The work, to improve the reliability of the rail network, means that no trains will call at either station all day, with replacement buses in operation.

Lawrence Bowman, customer experience director for London Northwestern Railway, said:

"Network Rail is carrying out essential engineering work on Sunday 8 November which means our services will not be able to call at Long Buckby or Northampton.

"We are advising passengers to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys if they travel as rail replacement buses will be in operation.

"We would also remind passengers that face coverings should be worn at all times when on board trains or rail replacement buses, unless a medical exemption applies."
