Parking restrictions at Lichfield Trent Valley as work nears completion

Press release -

Parking restrictions at Lichfield Trent Valley as work nears completion

Rail passengers who drive to Lichfield Trent Valley are being advised the station's main car park will be closed to traffic next week (w/c March 15) while major road resurfacing works are completed.

Extensive improvement works have taken place on the approach road to the station, off Burton Road, over the past fortnight to improve pedestrian and vehicular access at the site.

Motorists are advised the car park will close during w/c Monday 15 March while final resurfacing work is completed on the roadway. Drivers wishing to park at the station during this period are asked to use the car park adjacent to platform 2, off Burton Old Road. Pedestrian access is unaffected.

Jonny Wiseman, customer experience director for West Midlands Railway, said:

“We have made good progress on the improvements at Lichfield Trent Valley over the past fortnight which will ensure a more attractive and smoother welcome to the station for our customers.

"In order to finish off the work we must now close the main car park for a few days and we are asking our passengers needing to drive to the station to use the car park off Burton Old Road.

“At the moment train travel remains reserved for essential journeys only, which means it is a good time to complete this work with fewer people currently using the railway.”
