Satish 'Scotty' Kakkad, chief booking office clerk at Milton Keynes station, has seen off competition from railway staff the country to win a prestigious ‘Employee of the Year’ award. Scotty has been based at Milton Keynes for the past 32 years, and has been recognised for his continued passion, enthusiasm and drive to deliver excellent service to passengers.

​London Northwestern Railway passengers are being advised to check their train times today (22 March), following disruption to services between Northampton, Milton Keynes and London Euston. Evening rail services to boost region’s night time economy

Workers, sports fans, concert goers, theatre buffs and shoppers will all benefit from later evening services when West Midlands Railway and London Northwestern Railway introduce new timetables this May. More frequent evening services and later last trains are part of a range of service improvements being introduced by the train operators.

The steel framework for phase one of City of Wolverhampton’s new railway station building is close to completion. Contractors Galliford Try finished laying the foundations in February, following the demolition of the former British Transport Police building, and a small section of the current station building next to Platform one.

Full steam ahead on works to revamp Kidderminster station

Significant progress has been made on the redevelopment of Kidderminster station, since work started earlier this year. So far, work has focussed on the forecourt at the front of the station, which is currently fenced off. Once this stage of the redevelopment is complete, it will revert to being used as a passenger drop off area and taxi rank.

Passengers are being reminded that a £1.5m package of improvements is to ramp up at Stratford-upon-Avon station. From Monday 18 March, Network Rail, West Midlands Railway and Warwickshire County Council will increase work at the Warwickshire station to deliver a range of upgrades. These will include new waiting and seating areas, better retail facilities, accessible toilets, and cycle racks.
