West Midlands Railway issues Christmas travel reminder

West Midlands Railway has issued a reminder to passengers about changes to timetables over the Christmas period.

Fewer services will run on Christmas Eve afternoon and last trains will be earlier on all routes. As usual, there will be no train service on Christmas Day or Boxing Day.

A Saturday level of service will be in operation between Monday 27 December and New Year's Day inclusive, with slightly later first trains and fewer peak-time departures.

For passengers in Warwickshire, buses will replace trains between Dorridge, Leamington Spa and Stratford while essential track renewal works are carried out between Monday 27 December and Wednesday 29 December inclusive.

Buses will also replace trains:

  • On New Year's Day between Birmingham New Street and Tame Bridge Parkway for building work at Perry Barr station
  • On Sunday 2 January between Birmingham New Street and Redditch / Bromsgrove for building work at University station

Passengers are advised to check their journeys at www.wmr.uk/plan before travelling.
